About Counselling & Psychotherapy
At times we all struggle with seemingly insurmountable problems, maybe feeling stressed, frightened and isolated. We can feel overwhelmed by feelings of pain, fear, guilt, shame and anxiety.
Experiencing such emotions is merely part of being human yet when we feel depressed, worried, lacking in direction and full of self doubt it is often difficult to share these feelings with friends and family for fear of being misunderstood or stigmatised in some way.
At such times it seems important to be able to 'tell our story' and feel truly heard and understood, as well as feeling supported emotionally. I like to focus on peoples' strengths, resources, efforts and progress, on occasion helping them see humour in some of life's experiences.
I see counselling as a shared journey during which you can freely express your feelings and concerns in a safe, warm, caring, confidential and non judgemental environment.
It can be helpful to talk things through with a professional in confidence to explore what is at the root of your concerns, understand how it might be affecting you, and examine how you can live a more satisfying life.
Therapy is not only for those with problems. It can also be helpful for anyone who would like to learn more about themselves and their relationships.
